Dr Ann Myatt has warmly greeted the Prime Minister’s recent statement about reviving the Conservative pledge to raise the inheritance tax threshold to £1 million.
Ann Myatt, who is the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Westmorland & Lonsdale, said:
“I am delighted that the Prime Minister will be looking at re-instating this important and popular pledge in the manifesto for the next general election. At the current limit, many hardworking people in the South Lakes who have saved money and invested in their homes will be caught out by inheritance tax”.
Back in 2010, the Conservatives were not able to deliver on the policy due to considerable opposition from the Liberal Democrats during coalition negotiations.
