Christmas Luncheon at Stonecross Manor Hotel
Our Christmas Luncheon was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, held in the excellent surroundings of the Stonecross Manor Hotel in Kendal. Members and guests were treated to a warm festive atmosphere and superb hospitality throughout.
We were delighted to welcome Peter Dixon, who delivered a very funny yet informative speech reflecting on his remarkable 73 years as a Conservative member. Peter also said Grace before the meal, setting the tone for a wonderful three-course lunch. The starters, mains and desserts were all fantastic, and the staff at Stonecross Manor were perfect hosts, ensuring everything ran smoothly.
Following lunch, Mike Starkie, the Conservative Candidate for Cumbrian Mayor, gave an engaging and forward-looking speech outlining his vision for prosperity across Cumbria, which was warmly received.
Our Chairman, James Alexander, closed the afternoon with a few well-chosen remarks before drawing the raffle. Thanks go to Janet Warriner and others who worked hard to collect an excellent selection of prizes, which added to the enjoyment of a very successful event.
Overall, it was a memorable Christmas gathering and a fitting way to celebrate the season together.
