James Airey's six point plan for positive change in Westmorland & Lonsdale

  1. Brexit will bring great new opportunities. That's why I want to see the referendum result delivered. So we can move on to local priorities. Working with local businesses, residents and government ministers to make sure we get the investment we need to thrive.

  2. The NHS is getting record investment now. So I'll campaign to get a share of that spent on Westmorland General Hospital. Helping to improve local services , like emergency care.

  3. We need to improve roads and cut congestion. So I'm campaigning to upgrade the A590 and build a Kendal Relief Road. And I'll push for more rural bus routes and improved services on the Lakes and Furness Line.

  4. 20,000 more police are being recruited. Now I'll work with residents to make sure we get our share in the areas that need it most. And give them extra resources they need to combat rural crime.

  5. Our local economy needs a boost. I'm working with employers and the government to improve broadband coverage, support tourism and back our farming community. Helping to create more jobs that pay a decent wage.

  6. Quality services are vital for young and old. That's why I'm campaigning for extra funds to improve local schools. Giving children the best start. And improving social care so we get the support in later years.
