Protecting Kendal’s Heritage While Planning for the Future
The Heart of Kendal regeneration project, funded through the Government’s Local Regeneration Fund, promises major changes to Kendal’s town centre this includes Market Place and Kent Street. While we welcome investment into our community, it’s vital that local voices are heard and that Kendal’s historic character is respected.
As Conservatives, we believe regeneration should enhance, not erase, what makes our towns special. We want to see practical improvements that boost local trade, improve access, and make Kendal safer and more welcoming, without unnecessary disruption, overspending, or the loss of parking and local business opportunities.
This early consultation is an important chance for residents, traders, and community groups to have their say. The views gathered will help shape how Kendal evolves, so that regeneration works for the people who live and work here, not just for planners in offices.
We urge everyone who cares about Kendal’s future to take part in the questionnaire. Let’s ensure that Kendal’s heritage, economy, and community spirit are at the heart of every decision.
Please find the questionnaire at the link below and we urge you to put your opinions across!
