Conservative Victory as On-Street and Residents' parking charges are SCRAPPED!Local Conservatives are celebrating victory in their campaign to stop the introduction of on-street parking and residents' permit charges. Following a huge public and political outcry the Lib Dem / Labour led Cumbria County Council has announced that these charges will not now be introduced.

Winston Churchill Memorial Trust

In this month of commemoration of the D-Day Landings we want to draw the attention to the work of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. Following the death of Sir Winston Churchill, our leader during the dark days of the Second World War, many people contributed to a fund in his memory in gratitude and respect for his wartime service. Over 100 people every year are awarded grants to work or study abroad. These include people of all ages and from all walks of life. 

Protest Against On-Street Parking Charges

Hundreds of local people are opposing the introduction of on-street parking charges in our towns. Groups in Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere have met to discuss the measures proposed by Cumbria County Council.  Conservative Councillors have consistently opposed the introduction of on-street parking charges.
