James is the Leader of the Conservative Group at the County Council and represents Ulverston West. "In 2001 I was the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Barrow and Furness and I was the Candidate for Morecambe and Lunesdale in 2005. I am married to Caroline and have one son, Owen. I am also a farmer and in my spare time I am a keen supporter of Country sports and a passionate clay pigeon shooter. New Conservative Office in Kendal opened by Minister

The Westmorland and Lonsdale Conservative Association welcomed Under Secretary of State for Transport, Paul Maynard MP to Kendal last Friday (11 November) as he came to formally open the new constituency office on New Road.
