Bill has been involved in Town politics for many years and has just stepped down from the Town Council after 35 years having been Mayor of the Town on three occasions. He is a County Councillor for Grange and the Deputy Chairman Political for the Association.He was born in South Cumbria and has lived and worked in the area most of his life. He comes from a local farming family. His Grandfathers and Father before him were farmers.
