Raised amidst the fells of Westmorland and Lonsdale, I have deep roots in this remarkable community since moving to the Lake District at age seven.
My journey has been diverse and enriching.
As a Captain in the Army Reserve (current) and a Senior Project Manager as part of the central Government, I honed my leadership skills, responding to high-profile challenges and emergencies with resilience and pragmatism.
My role as a Community First Responder with the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) further reflects my commitment to our locality.
Professionally, I currently work in the Defence Sector, contributing to innovative defence projects.
My experiences in the Army Reserve and central Government have equipped me with a keen understanding of policy implementation and the complexities of governance.
I’ve been recognised for my lifesaving actions and featured in British Army media campaigns.
My work in central government involved dealing with urgent national issues and interfacing with ministers and senior officials.
I have also studied politics as a Morehead-Cain Scholar in the US and at the postgraduate level in the UK, which has honed my analytical skills in this field.
I am entrenched in local politics, being a member of the Executive Committee of the Westmorland and Lonsdale Association (up until my selection as the Parliamentary Candidate).
My focus is on unlocking our local economy, fortifying education and job opportunities, and enhancing connectivity to the wider world.
I envision a vibrant, diversified economy for our region, extending beyond tourism to include tech and creative sectors.
I am eager to represent Westmorland and Lonsdale and bring about political progress, community collaboration, and innovative economic solutions.
I am prepared to tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for our community.
I bring a unique blend of local commitment, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of both community and national issues.
