County Matters
The County Council has just put out the following information  in relationship to the Council Tax for next year. General Council Tax and Adult Social Care Precept
It is assumed that the Council will increase general Council Tax by 1.99% and Adult Social Care Precept will increase by 1%.  The consultation document asks for feedback from the public on a proposed 1.99% increase in the County Council’s share of Council Tax for general purposes in 2022/23 and on the proposed 1% increase in the Adult Social Care Precept for 2022/23.  The budget consultation on these proposals can be found at cumbria.gov.uk/budgetconsultation or you

The full documents are on line as is the following information on the latest on Local Government Reform here in Cumbria.

The County Council have launched a new public-facing website which provides a wealth of information on Local Government Reorganisation in Cumbria, such as information on the background to LGR as well as the overall aims and ambitions of the changes. There is also a timeline of events, and a glossary to help residents, businesses and our partners understand the process as well as some of the terminology.
As winter is approaching fast if you find that the highways grit bin near you needs replenishing please go on line or ring our highways hotline(0300 030 2992 ) to request the County Highways to fill the bin.
I know that at present Covid infection rates are still high so please take up the booster jab when you are offered it and help keep yourself and your community as safe as possible.
At this time of year hopefully we will be able to see our family and friends in person. Enjoy your Christmas and please stay safe.
Kindest regards
Bill Wearing
