The Lib Dem Party has voted against Conservative legislation to reform constituency boundaries in the UK. Currently some MPs represent 50,000 people and other over 80,000. This is bad for democracy as each MP has the same weight of vote in the House of Commons. The plans would also have saved a huge sum of money by reducing MP numbers by 50. Tim Farron MP costs around £200,000 a year, 50 less of that would result in a saving of £50 million per parliament. That would do wonders for the Westmorland General Hospital.
